Back in September, we saw one of the latest announcements from the folks at Cyanogen. That announcement was for a new series of builds, the M Series, with the M standing for monthly. We saw the release of CyanogenMod 10 M1 at the time of the initial announcement, and as of today, one month later, we have the release of CyanogenMod 10 M2.
Those who have been waiting for the release, go ahead and surf on over to the CyanogenMod site and begin your download. And for those who may have missed the excitement behind the M Series last month, lets offer a bit of what it is all about.
CyanogenMod 10 M2, just as the regular release of CM10, is based off of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The M Series is aimed at those who are looking to use something a bit more cutting edge, but at the same time, those who are not quite ready for the nightlies.
Currently, the CM team is doing M builds for major devices, including versions of the Galaxy S3, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S2, LG Nitro, and Sony Xperia S. A full list is available on the CM blog.
Finally, an important note — the M Series builds are considered experimental which means you may see some bugs. Proceed with caution.
